Shaw Temple A.M.E. Zion Church

Shaw Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church has a proud legacy of faith, service, and community uplift that began in 1890 with the founding of the A.M.E. Zion Church of Atlanta.

Today, that same spirit of empowerment continues in Smyrna, where Shaw Temple stands as a beacon of hope and healing, serving both spiritual and physical needs through initiatives like Shaw Temple Academy and community outreach programs.

Building on this foundation, the Shaw Temple Health Hub extends the church’s long tradition of caring for the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.


The Shaw Temple Health Hub is a warm, welcoming space where neighbors come together to learn, connect, and take steps toward healthier living.


Visits are confidential. Citizenship is not required. Everyone in the Shaw Temple community are welcome to join the Health Hub.

The Health Hub offers free health screenings, coaching, workshops, and direct support from local and licensed nurses and pharmacists, along with help coordinating care, appointments, and referrals.

Grounded in the belief that when we care for ourselves, we care for our community, the Health Hub invites everyone — families, friends, and neighbors — to join in this collective journey toward wellness and wholeness.
